The Answers:

General Questions

(Q) Let me get this straight. You're doing gymnastics and other movement activities with a bunch of kids on a school bus. Is this really safe?
(A) Parents not familiar with the program concept sometimes think we're planning to take their child on a jumping, tumbling ride down the Interstate! First and foremost, children are NOT transported during any activity involving Miss Stacie's Tumblebus. Period. Safety is absolutely paramount aboard the bus. Our safety regulations stipulate that the bus engine is to be off whenever children are on board. With the engine off and the air brakes set, the bus is not going anywhere! During activities, our on-board diesel generator provides all the power we need for heating, cooling, lights and music. Gymnastics flooring, interior side walls and other parts of the play area are well-padded and provide plenty of cushion. Children are supervised their entire time on the bus. For everyone's peace of mind, we carry full liability insurance coverage.

Daycare & Preschool Programs

(Q) Why should I enroll my child in Miss Stacie's daycare program? What do you offer that the daycare doesn't?
(A) Miss Stacie's Tumblebus is a unique program that gives your child the chance to experience gross motor activities that may not otherwise be available at your center. The program involves some gymnastics and lots of movement (i.e. running, jumping, skipping etc.) -- all important parts of a child's development. Some centers are equipped to provide a similar type program, but may lack the most vital component...a trained and experienced teacher. Other centers may lack the necessary space for programs like this. Also, a change from the usual, daily routine is good for students and classroom teachers alike. Tumblebus provides something for your child to look forward to each week and it also provides a smaller class for the teacher to spend more individualized time with the rest of the class. Best of all, the program takes place at your child's center while you work, freeing-up valuable evening and weekend hours.

(Q) You don't currently visit my child's daycare. I'd love for my child to participate though. How can we get you to include our center on your weekly schedule?
(A) That's an easy one. Just ask. If requested by the parent(s), many daycare center staff are pleased to setup an "Open House" aboard the bus. On "Open House" day, Miss Stacie parks the bus at the daycare during afternoon pick-up times. Children and parents have an opportunity to get on the bus, try out the fun things and talk with Miss Stacie one-on-one about the program. Once children, parents and daycare staff see the bus and learn about the curriculum, most agree that this is a program worth offering. Our current daycare schedule will provide an idea of which day of the week the bus could visit your child's center. We cover a large geographic area and already have programs in place at many centers from Martinsburg, WV to Berryville, VA, so we encourage your child's provider to secure a day/time slot as soon as possible.

Birthday Parties

(Q) We live on a dirt road that has some pot holes. Can the bus get to us for a party?
(A) Due to low ground clearance, the bus is strictly limited to paved roads. Under no conditions will the bus travel "off-road." Every attempt should be made to provide a level parking area for the bus, free of obstructions and with easy access for participants. If we can't get to your front door, neighbors or nearby relatives, schools or churches may be willing to provide a spot for "Miss Stacie's Tumblebus."

(Q) What happens if the bus breaks down the day of our party? What about snow or inclement weather?
(A) Despite regular and preventive maintenance, that's one of those issues that -- unfortunately -- can come up when you're dealing with a large commercial vehicle. If we experience a mechanical breakdown or weather/road conditions prevent us from safely operating the bus, we will -- at your option -- 1) reschedule the party to a mutually-agreeable date time and date or 2) refund your deposit in full.

(Q) Can we get on the bus during the party and check-out the fun goings-on?
(A) Sure. We encourage parents and relatives to observe all activities from the viewing area in the front of the bus. Bring your camera and/or video recorder to capture the memories! Be aware though that the front of the bus can get quite cramped when everyone wants to come out and watch. Miss Stacie's Tumblebus is not responsible for any injury that a parent might receive on the Tumblebus and parents are only allowed in the front of the bus. Due to liability limitations, only participating children and instructors are allowed on the blue carpet.
